Rockstar Games have finally announced the release date for next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V. In their latest Newswire post, Rockstar confirmed that the “expanded and enhanced versions” of GTA V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be arriving on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with new features and more on November 11.
As was announced during a PlayStation 5 Showcase late last year, the standalone version of GTA Online will be available on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles but this new version of GTA Online will exclusively be free for PlayStation 5 players for the first three months after release. Another perk of the PlayStation and Rockstar Games deal is that every month until the release of GTA Online on PlayStation 5, PlayStation Plus members can claim $1,000,000 GTA currency on the PlayStation Store.
There will be more details about the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V as we get closer to the release date. It is interesting to note that Rockstar says the game will be “expanded” meaning the game could either have an altered Los Santos map or bundled in DLC content. Deadline: Return of the Shotaro, Stunt Racing, and all-new Survival maps are new updates expected to release for GTA Online in the coming weeks and months. These summer updates will include special bonuses for players to take advantage of in the updated version of the game later this year. Rockstar Games promises more surprises on the way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, some specific to GTA Online.
