ION Lands, the developer of last year’s indie hit Cloudpunk, has announced their next project, an immerse sim set in the same cyberpunk city as their last game; Nivalis, which is also the title of this sequel. Life in Nivalis isn’t easy, what with the gangs that want to harvest your organs and the Corps that watch your every move, not to mention the fact that the city is slowly crumbling into the ocean below. It’s up to you to start your own business and get rich while you still can.
Start small with a food stall or ramen stand and grow your business to a bar or nightclub. If you play your cards right, you can own the nightlife of Nivalis. That won’t come easy though, because it’s up to you to buy or grow your own ingredients, cook unique dishes, mix cocktails, and more. And you aren’t restricted to just business management. You can take some time off and spend the day relaxing. You can pimp out your house or buy a new one altogether. Nivalis is a lively city, with traffic buzzing every which way and crowds of peoples living out their life. Who knows, maybe in that crowd is your future friend, customer, or even lover.
Nivalis is currently in development and there is no exact release date. However, you can wishlist the game on Steam now to get notified when the game becomes available. I reviewed Cloudpunk last year and said that despite being held back by its poor performance on console, the game was deeply rooted in its cyberpunk influences with the city of Nivalis being a beautiful and bustling backdrop to the story. In other ION Lands news, the City of Ghosts DLC for Cloudpunk is out now.
