Earlier this year we got our first look at Aliens: Fireteam, a co-op shooter that pits players against hordes of Xenomorphs from the iconic sci-fi movie series. After getting a brief gameplay preview from IGN we haven’t heard much else from the game, which was initially announced to release Summer 2021.
Now we have three new pieces of information about the game that answer some questions and confirm leaks from earlier in the day. Firstly, the name. Previously titled just Aliens: Fireteam, the game has now been relabeled to Aliens: Fireteam Elite. We also have our first look at the game’s PlayStation 5 cover art, showcasing the new title.
Next is the release date. Players itching to get their hands on some Colonial Marine weaponry and blow away some aliens will be happy to know that Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be releasing on August 24 of this year.
Lastly, we have the price. Perhaps the source of all this information before it was officially confirmed by the developers, pre-orders for Aliens: Fireteam Elite are up and you can pick up the game on all consoles for $39.99. Pre-ordering the game will unlock the Hardened Marine pack, which comes with a weapon camo, emote, character accessory, and weapon decals.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be releasing in August for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. There is a new trailer for the game that came out alongside this news. And I recommend you check out the game’s official website as well, for no other reason than the simple fact that it has a cool opening screen while it asks for your age. You can wishlist the game on Steam now.
