A few days ago, a listing on a Taiwanese website leaked the announcement of Alan Wake Remastered. There were many rumors following that premature listing that the game was going to be announced at the PlayStation Showcase scheduled for later this week. But today, in an open letter on the official Alan Wake community site, Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment, has confirmed the existence of the remaster. Developed in partnership with Epic Games Publishing, the remaster is nearing completion will release later this year on more consoles than ever before. Sam Lake writes:
“This is for you. Alan Wake came out over 11 years ago, and through that time, you have told us again and again how much you love the game, the story, the characters, and the lore. And that matters a lot to us. We love this game as well. I love this game. The remaster is coming because of your support for Alan Wake through the years.”
Alan Wake Remastered will be out this Fall for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store. That is correct, for the first time ever, Alan Wake is coming to PlayStation. Along with all-new 4K visuals, the remaster will come bundled with all previously released DLC and a developer commentary from Sam Lake. The listing on Rakuten Taiwan said the game would release on October 5, but we are given no such specifics at this time.
