There’s a scene at the start of Far Cry 4 where Pagan Min tells you to sit where you are for fifteen minutes and, in turn, he’ll come back and get you where you want to go. This is normally the player’s cue to get up and get the hell out of there. However, if you stuck around, Pagan Min would in fact come back and he would honor his word. He takes you right to where you need to go, and the game ends. This was the first early secret ending in the series. Since then it’s become sort of a series staple, returning in Far Cry 5 to a similar effect. So now Far Cry 6 is out, it begs the question of if the game has an early secret ending. The simple answer is yes, but this time around the ending isn’t quite as short or easy to attain. Obviously, spoilers for Far Cry 6 are to follow, so read at your own discretion.
From the start of the game, the main character, Dani Rojas, has one goal. To get out of Yara and go to Miami. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned and Dani washes up on the shore of Isla Santuario and soon joins forces with Libertad to try to get off the island. Unlike previous games, where the secret ending is within a few minutes of the start, you have to complete the objectives on this tutorial island and complete enough of the story so that Libertad can get past Anton Castillo’s blockade. Once you do this, you will find yourself on the Zamok Archipelago, the Headquarters of Libertad. For those playing through the game, this is where you go talk to Juan Cortez and continue on with the story. However, for the secret ending, you have to turn around on the dock, get on the small boat, and head Southeast past the island and south after that. When you hear Dani say “I’m sorry, Clara. Not my fight.” you have done it right. The screen will fade to black and then cut to a shot of Dani 3 months later relaxing on a beach in Florida. A radio reporter fills you in on what happens in Yara after you left, and the credits roll. This will also unlock the ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ trophy/achievement.
With that, congratulations, you have beaten Far Cry 6 in a fraction of the time it takes to unite all the guerilla groups, fight Castillo’s army, and take back Yara.
