The recent resurgence in the internet’s favorite graphics testing series thanks to the Crysis Remastered Trilogy last year has made fans wonder when a potential sequel would be released. Today, we have official confirmation of Crysis 4 thanks to a tweet from the Crytek China account followed by the official teaser trailer featuring swirling patterns of nanotech. In an official blog post on the Crysis website, Avni Yerli, Crytek CEO, had the following to say:
Crytek has a proud history of working with our community to develop the games you want to play. Crysis is incredibly important to so many people – it’s beloved by gamers everywhere, and some of those working in the industry today are doing so because of the original game – so we want to make sure the next installment in the franchise lives up to all of your expectations.
The game is still in early development, so there is no date on when the game will come out, but more details will come out over the coming months. If you have not yet played any of the Crysis games, this gives you plenty of time to catch up. You can play all three Crysis games with visual upgrades thanks to the Crysis Remastered Trilogy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you can also play the first three games via backwards compatibility.
