UPDATE: 2/22/22: On this special Twosday, PlayStation revealed the final design of the PlayStation VR2. In an official PlayStation blog post, Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President of Platform Experience, detailed the improvements made to the new headset. PSVR2 has an ergonomic design that is focused on comfort. It has an adjustable headband and scope. The headset boasts a new lens adjustment dial, weighs less than the previous generation headset, and has a new built-in motor. Improved ventilation to prevent the lens from fogging over.
Not to mention that the headset and the new controllers match perfectly with the design of the PlayStation 5 and the DualSense controller. Similar to the home console, the headset will also have tiny PlayStation symbols over the front and back of the headset. There is still no official window for release, but we are told that more details are on the way.

The system is all great, but what can you play on it? Well, considering that this is Sony we’re talking about, it is a pretty safe bet that there will be quite a few system exclusives, especially taking into account their recent acquisition of Firesprite Games, a team known for The Persistence VR. While we don’t have a lot of details, we do have confirmation that Firesprite is teaming up with Guerilla to make Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a new original VR game set in the Horizon universe. Sony also promises that their biggest exclusive franchises will make an appearance on the PS VR2, though we don’t have any other names just yet.
