Fall of Porcupine is an upcoming story adventure game from newly minted German studio BUNTSPECHT.GAMES and published by Assemble Entertainment. You’ll play as a fledgling named Finley as they start their residency at a provincial hospital to practice internal medicine. The game shines a light on the difficulties healthcare workers face such as the industry’s lack of work/life balance and cutthroat leadership. Fall of Porcupine’s emotional story draws thematic inspiration from the beloved sitcom Scrubs and showcases genre parallels to Night in the Woods.

While delicately dealing with this difficult subject manner, Fall of the Porcupine also tells a story of friendship, self-sacrifice, and self-love. When you and Finley aren’t diagnosing townsfolks and reporting back to the unsupportive head doctor, you’ll be able to explore the town. There are mini-games, sleek platforming, and branching dialogue choices alongside the heartfelt story. All parts of the game will also be accompanied by one big problem: the futile attempt to create a healthy work/life balance. This helps to expose the unhealthy and systemic issue is prominent in the healthcare industry today.
