During the Future Games Show at gamescom earlier this week we got a look at Bulkwark: Falconeer Chronicles, a city builder that is set in the same universe as Tomas Sala’s flight-combat game, The Falconeer. Here is what the solo BAFTA-nominated developer has to say about the upcoming game:
“I am thrilled to be in this together with the team at Wired Productions. Working with someone like myself, who is chaotic and creative in equal measure, is an adventure, and I’m delighted we’ll be jumping into the deep end together. Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is a constantly evolving and changing concept and I cannot wait to see the final result of this collaboration.”
Here’s everything we know about Bulwark:
- Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is a new stand-alone game set in The Falconeer universe.
- Create and kitbash your Bulwark with boundless options and freedom across fantastical and impossible landscapes.
- Meet and hire commanders and specialists that unlock new building options, units, and stories.
We don’t know much else other than the fact that this marks an extension of the partnership between Tomas Sala and Wired Productions. The game is currently in development and while it is safe to assume it will launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC at the very least, only a PC release is confirmed as of now. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
The Falconeer was an Xbox Series X|S console launch exclusive that was released on PlayStation around this time last year. I played the Warrior Edition of the game on the PlayStation 5; you can check out my thoughts here. Though Bulwark is set in The Great Ursee, this is a departure from the first game in terms of genre. What do you think of this spin-off from The Falconeer series? Let us know down in the comments.
