From the developers of The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2 comes a game no one saw coming. Or heard. Hi-Fi Rush was the biggest surprise of the Developer Direct from Xbox and Bethesda. Time your attacks to the beat of the music to deal more damage and get more bonuses. Hi-Fi Rush is a colorful and cartoony rhythm-action game and, the biggest surprise is that it’s out today on Xbox Game Pass.
But that wasn’t all that was discussed during the roughly forty-minute event. We also got updates and release dates for Xbox games coming (mostly) in the first half of the year.
Minecraft Legends will take the world of Minecraft and turn it into a full-story RPG where players defend the world from the pigmen who are trying to take over. There will also be a PvP mode where you can play with and against friends, all while the pigmen still try to destroy both teams. Minecraft Legends will be out on April 18.
Forza Motorsport continues to expand on the realism of the Forza games with dirt buildup on cars and audio that changes based on what pieces you have in your car. If you change up your engine or tires, you’ll now hear the difference. Weather and time of day will also play a factor as you race. The game doesn’t have an exact release date but is expected to release this year.
Alongside releasing a new Necrom DLC, all past chapters and over 20 DLCs will be free to play in Elder Scrolls Online for a limited time. We also got a more extensive look at Redfall vampire-hunting RPG FPS from Arkane Austin which will officially be released on May 2. Here’s a quick overview of all the games and release dates.
- Minecraft Legends | April 18
- Forza Motorsport | 2023
- Hi-Fi Rush | January 25 (Today)
- Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom | June 5 (PC) & June 20 (Xbox)
- Redfall | May 2
