Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, which means that a whole lot of new players will be picking the game up and sneaking their way to finishing it. While unlocking the main crew is part of the main story, there is one more crewmate that is a surprise.
One of the first (and most cryptic) characters you’ll meet in the Lost Carrabiean of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is the skeletal jester named Virgilio. Reviving him isn’t just for the style, it also pops the secret ‘Welcome Back Jester’ trophy/achievement. !!Obvious Spoilers Ahead!!
Before we get to the requirements for unlocking him, here is a quick summary of his crew card:
Virgilio | The Trickster | A mysterious figure who helped bring Afia and the Marley together. As thanks for restoring his soul, Virgilio is staying with the crew for a while, lending them a fraction of his considerable powers. Just don’t play him at cards.
His signature skill is Trickster’s Tarot, which allows Virgilio to mimic the abilities of the crewmates at any time. You can access all skills throughout the mission and switch between the characters’ skill sets as you like.
There are two things (two criteria to be more precise) you need to meet in order to get the chance to revive Virgilio:
- Beat the Game: Let the credits roll, wake back up on the Red Marley, talk to the crew and the Marley herself and you will be asked to inspect Virgilio’s body.
- Reach 85% Overall Completion: As part of the post-game content, you can complete any remaining Crew Tales and take on challenges across the Lost Carrabiean. Doing so will increase your Overall Completion percentage. (You can check this by pausing the game at any time and selecting the Logbook button.) Once you get to 85% completion, the Marley will be able to revive the jester.
