Lies of P, from Neowiz Games and Round 8 Studio, is a new Souls-like action RPG that has you playing as Pinocchio. After much hype, the game is out now and for everyone curious about the game, we put together this handy guide to answer your questions.
What is Lies of P About?
Lies of P is a Souls-like reimagining of Pinocchio. That doesn’t mean it’s a retelling of the Disney movie, however. While characters like Geppetto and Jiminy Cricket do appear in the game, they are inherently different. Featuring a blend of source material and new ideas, Lies of P is set in the city of Krat after the Puppet Frenzy has made all the puppets break the Grand Covenant and start killing humans. It is in this world that Pinocchio is awakened into by the Blue Fairy.

There are 11 chapters.
How Long is Lies of P?
The answer honestly changes based on player experience as some might struggle more than others. On average, the game takes about 25 hours but completionists and players taking their time can easily double that.
Is Lies of P Hard?
While this is obviously subjective, Lies of P is in many ways more accessible than your average Dark Souls game. That being said, the game has an emphasis on guarding. When you block, you take a bit of damage, but immediately attacking the enemy will allow you to recover some of that health. If you do a Perfect Guard, which means you block right as the enemy is about to land the hit, you take no damage, and the enemy staggers. Most of the time you can dodge around if you feel unsure of the timing. However, when an enemy glows red, it can only be negated by a Perfect Guard.
Does Lies of P Have Co-Op Multiplayer?
No, Lies of P does not have co-op, but for players wanting an extra hand in the boss fights, there are specters. These AI companions can be summoned outside of boss rooms using Star Fragments to help with the fight ahead. Star Fragments are dropped randomly by enemies as you play.
