Call of the Sea was released in late 2020 and received plenty of positive reviews. This led to the game getting a full release on PlayStation a few months later. Overall the puzzles in the game are not too difficult, but the one that definitely took me the longest my first time around was the set of constellation puzzles you must complete once you are inside the sanctuary in Chapter 6 of the game. In this guide, I’ll tell you how to open each of the doors as well as unlock a secret missable achievement. So, to make this guide as comprehensible as possible, let us start with entering the room. The first thing you must do is press the two buttons on either side, as seen in the above image, in order to release the stone circles to the center. Afterward, it should look like this:
As you see above, I have numbered the circles, as this will make explaining how to create the constellations much easier. To add to this ease, here is an image you will see once you move up to the circles and interact with them. You’ll notice I’ve placed letters on each of the constellation pieces here.
For each of the doors, I will write which circle needs to have which constellation piece pressed by writing the corresponding letter and number, for example, “1A”. Not every door will use every circle, and each circle can only have one constellation piece pressed at a time. So, now that we have that out of the way, let’s begin with Door Number 1.
The first door we are able to open is this one:
Door 1
To unlock the first door you must have the following constellation pieces activated:
- 1D
- 3D
Once you are through the door, you must follow the pathway to another fish head which you will place your hand in to unlock the next constellation piece, which allows you to be able to open door 2 and door 4. Door 4 has an additional puzzle through it, so I recommend finishing that one last, which is why I put it as door 4 instead of door 3.
Door 2
- 1E
- 4E
To remove the constellation piece from circle 3, simply interact and press constellation piece D to deactivate it. Make sure to always uncheck any unused circles between doors in order for the constellation to work.
Door 3
- 1B
- 3B
- 4D
Unlike Door 1 and 2, these next two have a bit more of a puzzle to get you to the next fish head. This door is more complex than the first two, but it is much simpler than door 4. Just use the portal to turn into a sea-creature, swim to the far side of the pool, use the portal there to turn back to human, stick your hand in the fish head, and then repeat the same process back to the door you came in.
Door 4
- 1E
- 2D
- 3E
This door offers the most difficult of challenges, so I have actually made a separate guide to help you make your way through there. Click HERE if you need help arranging the Howling Dogs/Dragons to make your way to the other side or for help finding the secret object for this chapter.
BEFORE The Final Door
There is a missable secret achievement called “Otherworldly Portal.” To get this achievement, clear any unused circles per usual and set up the constellations like this:
- 1A
- 4C
This will bring you to look up at the ceiling where you’ll get a quick cutscene and the achievement will pop. Sometimes people have had issues with completing this and need to save, exit to main menu, and reload in order for it to work, but I had no issue completing it right after finishing Door 4. Also, some (myself included) have reported that if you try to do it after opening the final throne room door, it will not allow you to.
The Final Door
And now we are onto the Throne Room door, which is the last one you’ll need to open. The constellation you need to make in order to solve this one lies above your head. When you first walked in, you may have noticed that there was a star on the ground. When you interact with it, Norah says:
“An eye and a star. ‘Look at the stars maybe’?”
Looking up you will see this constellation:
And the following are the constellation pieces you’ll need to activate to make it. This one will take all 4 circles.
- 1E
- 2A
- 3C
- 4D
Now you are ready to continue forward and discover how Norah’s journey ends. If you want to see a visual for any of these constellations, I have a full let’s play of the game on my channel which features this puzzle starting at 11:03 in Part 6.
